ジョンズ・ホプキンズ大学にて生物医学工学の理学士号を 取得後、18年にわたり、米国および日本の大手企業の特許 業務を含め、世界中の特許出願業務を手がけてきました。 また、米国特許商標庁の審査官も経験しています。 直近では、LED照明／開発企業にて、エンジニアリング・ ディレクターおよび社内特許担当者として業務をしてきました。 取り扱ってきた分野は機械、材料、光工学、製品検証・製品 設計の広範囲に及びます。
これまでに機械・電気・ソフトウェア・化学・バイオテクノロジー の分野の特許明細書を作成し、特許出願業務を経験しました。 特許実務全般を得意としていますが、中でも情熱を注いで いるのが、特許明細書の作成です。
Andrew McAleavey is registered to practice before the USPTO in patent cases and holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
He is a U.S. patent agent with 18 years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications across the world, including work for major U.S. and Japanese corporations. Mr. McAleavey has also acted as an Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Most recently, he served as director of engineering and in-house patent agent for an LED lighting and technology company. His engineering expertise includes mechanical and materials testing and product validation; light science and photometrics; and product design. He has written and prosecuted cases in the mechanical, electrical, software, e-commerce, chemical, and biotech fields. While he enjoys all aspects of patent practice, he is particularly passionate about writing patent applications.

Kenneth M. Fagin
Kenneth M. Fagin is a U.S. patent attorney with over 30 years of experience. A graduate of MIT with a degree in aerospace engineering, he has obtained patents in a variety of technologies for clients throughout the world.He has also handed litigation matters in U.S. courts and patent validity challenges at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including inter partes reviews and ex parte re-examinations. Mr. Fagin is admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C. and Virginia, as well as in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Michael A. Sanzo
Michael A. Sanzo is a U.S. patent attorney and is of counsel to United IP Counselors. He holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry and worked as a biochemist before entering the intellectual property field. Over a long career, he has represented large companies, mid-size companies, and start-ups in biotechnology, chemistry, and pharmaceuticals to obtain hundreds of U.S. and foreign patents. He has also drafted many formal opinions as to patent infringement, non-infringement, validity and other such legal matters. Dr. Sanzo is a frequent author and has written many articles on topics in intellectual property law. He is admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Paul W. Kruse
Paul W. Kruse is a U.S. trademark attorney with vast experience. A graduate of Vanderbilt Law School, he has worked in the areas of trademark prosecution, enforcement, and litigation support. Paul also handles copyright, right of publicity, franchising, and domain name matters that involve trademark law. Paul previously practiced law in Washington, DC, including several years as a Trademark Attorney – Advisor at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

1978年に同志社大学工学部で応用化学の学士号を得た後、1986年から日本国弁理士となり、1997年から米国パテントエージェントとしても登録を受けています。
1989年設立の特許事務所（現・新樹グローバル・アイピー特許業務法人）をはじめとして、世界8カ国（地域）にて10箇所の特許事務所設立・経営に携わってきており、その全体を統括するUnited GIPsグループの代表を務めております。
1995年以来ワシントンDCに滞在し、現在はUnited IP Counselors, LLCに、創業パートナーとして、またUnited GIPs代表として勤務しております。
Yoshio Miyagawa is one of the founders of the member firms of the United GIPs. He frequently travels between our Washington, D.C. office and the other GIP offices in the world. He holds a B.S. in inorganic chemistry from Doshisha University, and has also engaged in graduate studies in organic chemistry.
Mr. Miyagawa began his intellectual property career in 1981, and was admitted to practice as a Japanese patent attorney in 1986. In addition, Mr. Miyagawa is also a registered U.S. patent agent. His professional associations include the Japanese Patent Attorneys' Association and American Intellectual Property Law Association.
スコット・ミラー
Scott Miller
ルイジアナ州立大学で学士号を得た後、20年にわたり、法律事務所を中心とする様々な分野で、事務所経営に携わってきました。
多文化に関わる経験もあり、ワシントンDCオフィスだけでなく、United GIPsグループ全体の経営に貢献することが期待されています。
Scott Miller joined the firm in June 2019 as its Chief Operating Officer.
He holds a B.S. from Louisiana State University. He brings to the firm twenty years of operations experience in law office and non-profit settings.
He also has a background in multicultural affairs. Scott will handle operations management for our Washington, D.C. office and the United GIPs.
