Naoko Nakamura serves as a paralegal and cultural liaison for United IP Counselors, LLC, and she has worked in the patent industry for many years.
With a bachelor’s degree in English (language and literature) from Sophia University in Tokyo and a fascination with technology, Naoko began her patent-oriented career in the optical technology-related equipment division of a major Japanese corporation. There, she translated patent specifications (including for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, medical equipment, and broadcasting equipment) as well as contracts, and she coordinated the flow of patent applications through the company.
Since leaving that company, Naoko has continued to translate patents and patent applications for a diverse range of clientele, including in the mechanical arts and other disciplines.
At UIPC, Naoko is often the first point of contact for many of our clients, and she greatly facilitates the Firm’s ability to respond to our clients’ needs at all times.

Todd Guise is a U.S. Patent Agent with over 20 years of experience. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in mathematics and later studied computer science. He prosecuted patent applications in various fields with a concentration in the mechanical arts. Over the past 12 years, Todd has reviewed and filed thousands of patent applications. Todd has lived in Japan and is proficient in Japanese.

Andrew McAleavey is a registered U.S. patent agent with 20 years of experience in U.S. and foreign patent prosecution handling a wide range of technologies, including mechanical, electrical, medical device, computer science, business method, and chemical subject matter. Andrew takes a "hands-on" approach with patent examiners to move cases through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has a track record of significant results where others have failed to obtain patents.

David McCrosky is a registered patent attorney with over 20 years of experience inside and outside of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). David served as a Primary Patent Examiner at the USPTO, specializing in complex medical devices, and computer-aided medical diagnostics. He brings a unique perspective by combining his legal expertise with a firsthand understanding of the patent examination process. David provides counsel in artificial intelligence, medical devices, electromechanical technologies and mechanical engineering. David is dedicated to helping inventors and businesses transform their innovations into protected assets. He earned a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He is admitted to practice in Colorado and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
